Arrows In The Woods

A pair of Sunbeam Arrows, found in Vancouver area by brothers Khashayar and Ashkan. They have bought the pair and shipped one of them to Toronto already, they are in the process of restoring these two neglected Sunbeams.

I want thank Khashayar & Ashkan here for being such an enthusiasts! As a matter of fact they have another Sunbeam Arrow in Toronto, and I will post photos of that one soon!

This brings the total number of Sunbeam Arrows, that I know of in Canada to five. Including this one here.

Count The Paykans...

This photo of Tehran I believe is few years old; the number of Paykans has dropped sharply in the streets of Iran recently, they've been replaced by newer cars. At some point in the past around 40% of passenger cars in Iran used to be Paykans.

Shah In Paykan

Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran shown here at the opening ceremony of Iran National (Iran Khodro), where the production of Paykan began in the late 60s.
Shah was an avid car fan and collector; among him and the Royal Family there were an impressive array of cars. The most notable one was Shah’s custome built 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV, which has gone through an amazing restoration lately. He actually owned 2 Miuras the other one was a Miura SVJ, this one also is outside of Iran now, and was purchased for $490,000 by actor Nicholas Cage. Cage sold it to a collector in the UK for an undisclosed sum in 2004.

The Seven-Ups

A 1969 Sunbeam Arrow in the 1973 movie The Seven-Ups starring Roy Scheider, you can watch the awesome 10min car chase here on YouTube. This movie was shot in New York City.

71 Hillman Hunter Estate

A nice example of the Hillman Hunter estate (Station Wagon). I believe this has to be a custom paint job, I don't think Rootes offered any two-tone colors. This car is an Automatic, very rare in the UK.
