GB2Aus Update#2

What a result!!!... My very good friends Sina & Sohrab got a chance to spend an entire evening with John & Barry in Tehran! I received these pictures from them yesterday, they had a great time together discussing many things. For dinner they went for some famous Kababs also! Yummy stuff! ;) It is great to see their Hunter made it all the way to Tehran, and I wish John and Barry lots of luck for the remainder of their Journey all the way to Australia!...

You can read their GB2Aus Blog, and also track their progress live here.

Special Thanks to Sian & Sohrab!!!... Daametoon Ghaarm Agha!!!...

Red Arrow

Fresh pictures from Tehran, sent to me by my friend Kamshots. I can't believe the condition of this Paykan Taxi! Kudos to the owner who has chosen to hold on to it rather than joining the sea of mediocracy full of Kia Prides & Peugeot 405s.

GB2Aus Update#1

I had an email from John & Barry, they are in Turkey now, and getting ready to cross the border into Iran this weekend! They had to stiffen the rear leaf-springs somewhere in Italy, but except that their 1968 London to Sydney Hillman Hunter replica is running like a champ!...

You can read their Travel Blog, and also track their journey live here.
For more information go to: http://www.gb2aus.co.uk/

Good Luck to you John & Barry, Travel Safe!...

Tasmanian Hunter

Dan from Tasmania has sent me these beautifully aged Polaroid pictures. I absolutely LOVE them! This is a 1968 Hillman Hunter MKI and was Dan's first car when he was 18 years old, he loved the Hunter and now regrets selling it.

A very special thanks to Dan for sharing his Tasmanian Hunter with us!

Mom Always Liked You Best

This is not a joke, believe it or not, it is an actual Chrysler advertisement for the US market. You see, Chrysler back then really tried to pitch the Sunbeam Arrow as a sophisticated European sedan. The biggest kick is that they even mentioned the devaluation of pound! At the end, as far as I could gather so far, they only managed to sell few thousands Arrows here in the US, from late 60's to early 70s.
