Speaking of beautiful sophisticated women, this is a 1967 advert by Rootes for the French market.

Now That You're Back...

A Sunbeam Vogue (which was the LHD export version of Singer Vogue), starring as a "Paykan surrogate" in this video from Kaiser(Gheysar). The car belongs to an Iranian in Sweden, and the clip was shot over there. Also I need to point out something here to all you good looking Persian girls out there, I got a white Paykan myself too, fancy a ride?!... ;)

By the way if you want watch Part1 of the video click here. Thanks to my friend Reza for the tip.

Mad Max Paykan!

What on earth?!!!.... :@

Swept Under

This is a LHD Humber Sceptre trim, which makes it a Sunbeam Sceptre, since Rootes only used the Humber brand in the UK. And for the location my guess is Corfu.

Update: It turned out that Rootes did use the Humber name in southern Europe, here is an example of LHD Humber Sceptre in Spain.

Woolfie

This is Woolfie Hill and his Dad's 67 Hillman Minx, it lasted for 6 years and ended up with an engine out of a 1970 Singer Gazelle estate. In the end structural problems got the better of it, and when it went it was like losing a member of the family. This photo was taken back in 1982.

OOT

This is Barry's Humber Sceptre, it's off the road at the moment awaiting some welding, but he wants to sorted out and use it as his daily driver. Sounds like a plan to me Barry! Good luck, and thanks for the pictures.

Ingenuity

Translation: Paykan is the corollary of engineers' ingenuity, and labor’s hard work in Iran.

Notice that there is no mentioning of British Engineers, maybe IranNational were trying to save them the embarrassment in the future. ;)

Thanks to Nader for submitting this lovely old Paykan advert.

Rapier

Although that this blog is about the Arrow series, but I am oblige to mention the Subeam Rapier Coupe Fastback, which was an attempt by Rootes to "stylized" the Arrow platform.

The Arrow Rapier launched in October 1967, was a coupé based on the chassis of the Hillman Hunter Estate. Although the Rapier used the tail lamps and rear valance from the Hunter Estate, the rest of its structure was unique. In all, 46,204 were produced from 1967-76.

Ok... lets get back to our PaykanHunter business shall we?... ;)
