1350 Collection

Vintage advert from 1971 (1350 Iranian calender) this was 4 years after the production started. From top to bottom: Paykan Taxi, Paykan Kaar (the base model), Paykan DeLux, Paykan Automatic & finally Paykan Javanan (based on Hillman GT at that time). Special Thanks to Amir Rokni for the scans!

Tartan Red

1968 Hillman Hunter MKII in Tartan Red.

Workhorse

The mighty Paykan Pick-Up (or Paykan Vanet as they call it in Iran). Still in production, they are the backbone of commerce in Iran, you see them everywhere. And they can carry up to 1.5 Ton of goods!...

I think I have collected enough evidence here in this blog to show that the Arrow Series were tough and dependable cars, but there are still skeptics out there who think that feeble cars like Dolomite or SD1 were better! You know who you are, its time to face the facts!... ;)

The Hastings Arms

Vintage photo from 1976 taken at Seaton Delaval provided by bikerbilly67. Check out the building on google map. Those are some huge wheels and tires on the back of that Hunter! Sweet! :)

GTs

CAR magazine scans from 1969, comparing the Hillman GT and the Ford Cortina MKII 1600 GT. Special thanks again goes to my friend Trigger's Retro Road Tests for the scans. Trigger, your contribution to this blog is priceless, I will give you a big juicy kiss on the mouth if I ever see you mate! ;)

Paykan Lowrider#81

Very popular sticker among Paykan riders. Photo by me taken in northern Tehran.

Happiest Grandpa In The World!

Isn't he the happiest Grandpa or what?!... ;) Regrettably I've forgotten where I got this photo, I can say that it was taken in Australia; it is the Australian Hillman Arrow.
