Grand Ouch!

There are only few of these Hillman Hunter GTs have survived, well clearly this one didn't. Apparently this was a Rootes company car, imagine the paperwork after the accident!

Special thanks to Matthew Ollman for the photo.

On The Move

The Hillman Hunter GT was a unique Australian car released in 1969. It combined the upmarket interior including veneer walnut dashboard, with the twin carburetors alloy head. The GT name was dropped in 1970 when the car was replaced with the Royal 660. There was a British Hillman GT which had a "Poverty Pack" interior.

For Men Only

I believe this is an Australian ad for the Hunter GT. The GT was a more powerful version of the Hillman Hunter. It developed 94 Break Horse Power at 5,200 RPM, had vacuum assisted disk brakes, and front suspension had a larger diameter stabilizer bar than the standard Hunters. YES!... Very Manley Indeed!...
