Sunbeam Vogue

You learn something new every day on this Grand subject of Rootes badge-engineering! So here is the latest development: It turned out that in 1970 only, they sold them as Sunbeams in UK also. Rootes discontinued the Singer name that year, so they badged the over-stock Singer Vogues as “Sunbeam Vogue”. Thanks to our resident expert Reza for his help.

Francisco's Sunbeam

I made a post about this Sunbeam Arrow more than a year ago, since then Phil has spent countless hours on this restoration project, and the result looks absolutely fantastic!

Arrow wagon is an extremely rare car here in North America, matter of fact we only know off one other example (non-runner) in the northwest area. I want congratulate Phil for his passion and dedication to this project, a first test drive in more than 2 years is due shortly, and I can’t wait to see the final result!

Speaking of Hillman GT, here is a very clean 1970 example.

Update: Notice that this car was simply called "Hillman GT", they didn't use Hunter.

Sad Biege

Hustled

The Hillman Hustler (I still can't get over the name!) was an Australian model only, it was the equivalent of the British Hunter GT.

Around 1970 the Hunter GT had its name changed to Hustler in an attempt to confuse the insurance companies who were involved in an anti-GT campaign at that time. As well as the decorative decals, the Hustler is improved by having the suspension lowered to improve the car's handling.
